Secure your WordPress Account with Two Factor Authentication Task

Step 1: Download and install the Okta Verify App from either the Google Play or Apple App Store on your mobile device if not already installed on your device.

Note: You can use the Okta Verify app in place of Google Authenticator.

Step 2: Login to your WordPress account from your computer and select the ‘Edit Profile’ dropdown by hovering over your name in the top right of the screen.

Step 3: Scroll down to the ‘Wordfence Login Security’ section and click on the “Activate 2FA” button.

Step 4: Open the Okta Verify app on your phone, click the plus symbol to add an account, select Other (not Organization) and scan the QR code that is presented on your computer. 

Step 5 (optional): You may also optionally download and save a set of Recovery Codes that can be used if you do not have access to your MFA device.

Step 6: Enter the code displayed on your phone into the Code field to complete the setup.

Note: Going forward, when logging into the configured instance of WordPress, after you enter your password you will be prompted to enter the code from the Okta Verify app on your phone.
