Keep your web browser up to date Task
The TRCA Staff Hub, as well as most websites, will not display and function properly in any Internet Explorer version that is lower than version 6. The current version of Internet Explorer is version 11, support for version 6 was ended in 2012 so it would be a good time to take the leap and upgrade your browser.
To check the browser version you have installed, open Internet Explorer and in the “Help” menu, select “About Internet Explorer”. If your version is 6 or below, I would highly recommend following the next four steps to update your browser and improve the security and display of your internet experience.
-
Step 1
Close all the programs that you are currently using. Click here to go to the Internet Explorer download page and select the language that you want to use in the “Select Language” box.
-
Step 2
Click the “Download” button. When prompted, click “Save” to launch the file-saving dialog box. Select the desktop as the location to save the IE installation file to, and then click “Save”.
-
Step 3
Double-click the IE installation you downloaded to the desktop and click “Run”. The installation wizard launches. Follow the guided prompts to complete the installation. When you see the installation confirmation, restart your computer.
-
Step 4
Verify that you are now using the latest version of IE. To do so, click the Windows “Start” button after restarting your computer, and then click “Internet Explorer” to launch the web browser. Click the “Help” menu located on the top and click “About Internet Explorer”. A new pop-up window launches. You should see the latest version in the “Version” section.
