Install the Okta Browser Plugin Task
The first time you login to Okta with your browser, you may be prompted to install the Okta Browser Plugin. The plugin is available for Microsoft Edge*, Firefox and Chrome. You do not need Administrator access to install browser plugins so this should be a quick step you only perform once on your computer.
* PLEASE NOTE: Only Microsoft Edge version 79+ that was released in January 2020 will work with the browser plugin. You can see if you have the correct version by checking that the Edge icon is the new swirl style icon and not the legacy ‘e’ style icon. If you need to upgrade, please contact the ITRM Help Desk.
Step 1: Log into Okta
Start by logging into your Okta Dashboard where you will be prompted to install the Okta Browser plugin if it is required and not already installed.
Step 2: Install the Okta Browser Plugin
Install the plugin for your respective browser by clicking the install button (you do not need administrator credentials to install browser plugins):
Step 4: Authorize Your Applications
Once the plugin is installed, you’ll be prompted to authorize your applications by clicking the Trust applications button in the plugin dialog.
Step 5: Access Your SSO Applications from Your Okta Dashboard
Once you have authorized the applications in the plugin, you can return to the Okta Dashboard and the plugin notice should no longer be showing and you’ll now be able to access all listed applications.
