Teams Phone Launch Update #2 – Your Action is Required

Good morning,
We’re excited to announce that the full launch of Teams phone will take place on Friday, August 19th.
What will happen on August 19th?
- All existing Mitel phone services will be transferred to Teams
- TRCA main line (416-661-6600) will ring into the Teams auto-attendant menu
- Callers to the main line can search staff by name (option 1)
- Main line call transfers to staff will be through Teams phone
- Mitel 4-digit extensions will stop working
What is happening prior to the launch?
- ITRM will be deploying new Teams conference phones to replace Mitel device prior to the launch
- This simplifies hybrid meetings enabling you to join the device to a Teams call when you book the Room as part of a Teams Meeting (no need to dial in)
- Please refer to the Teams Phone User Guide for more information
- Standard calling functionality is still available
How will TRCA inform our stakeholders, partners and the public?
- An updated TRCA main line greeting will alert callers of the phone system change
- Updated messaging will be posted to TRCA’s website
- Marketing and Communications will be scanning the website to identify where phone numbers will need to be removed or updated and will work with page owners
- Staff must update the office number in their email signature to inform their immediate contacts
Important reminder to update your contact info with your Teams phone number and setup voicemail. Your Action is Required by Friday, Aug 19th.

- Dayforce Contact Info (this info populates the O365 user card)
- Go to https://dayforce.trcastaff.ca > Select Employee
- Click Profile
- Click Pencil icon (Edit) next to Contact Information
- Update your Business phone number
You’ll receive a Dayforce email notice about the update and your O365 user card details will reflect the new number the next day.
