Young Canada Works (YCW) offers a variety of short-term job and internship programs to job seekers and employers. Eligible employers can benefit from wage subsidies and access to talented youth with innovative ideas and competitive skills. YCW works with employers who propose projects that support YCW’s general objectives including helping young Canadians gain practical work experience, develop their skills, enhance their employability, and learn more about their career options; increasing the pool of skilled and qualified candidates in the heritage, arts or cultural sectors; and enhancing the knowledge and appreciation of Canada’s achievements and cultural heritage.
Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations (YCWHO)
This program lasts between six and 16 weeks and supports organizations in Canada that have a heritage mandate such as a museum, archives, library, or managing a heritage site.
YCWHO generally provides approximately 50% of total eligible employment costs (wages, benefits, and other eligible expenses)
