Funding Opportunity – Toronto Atmospheric Fund

The Toronto Atmospheric Fund offers grants in the Building and Transportation sectors. The fund supports scalable projects that meet the following requirements:

Building sector

  • Demonstrate new approaches to significantly reduce carbon intensity and increase energy efficiency of existing buildings
  • Support the transition of new construction to be near net-zero carbon emissions by 2030
  • Advance policy and financing approaches to facilitate energy-efficiency retrofits
  • Pilot demonstrations of promising energy efficiency and zero-emissions building technologies and management approaches
  • Deepen tenant engagement to support energy efficiency practices

Transportation sector

  • Speed up transition to electric vehicles
  • Address key barriers and opportunities associated with the electrification of transportation
  • Advance policy and financing approaches to achieve provincial and municipal targets

This year, TAF is specifically encouraging ideas that are well-positioned to support resilient economic recovery, leverage stimulus funding, or change the way we work, shop, and travel in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you are interested in applying, please submit your SOI no later than July 17. Applicants will need to coordinate with TAF’s grantmaking team, so extra time has been built into the grant application process.
