March 5, 2020
Maximum request: Requests should range between $30,000 and $60,000 per year; higher requests will be entertained with detailed justification of project expenses
Statement of Interest due: March 12
The objectives of the Species at Risk Stewardship Program (SARSP) are:
- Improving the status of species at risk and their habitats by supporting stewardship and recovery actions;
- Supporting stewardship and multi-partner approaches to species at risk protection and recovery;
- Supporting outreach, youth employment opportunities and the provision of related tools and techniques to inspire and enable people to become involved in species at risk stewardship, and;
- Addressing important needs and knowledge gaps related to the protection, recovery and management of species at risk and their habitats in Ontario by supporting scientific research.
SARSP is currently accepting multi-year applications (1-3 fiscal years) supporting stewardship initiatives and contributing to the protection and recovery of species at risk in Ontario. Project proposals must demonstrate how they consider the most current and relevant recovery documents relating to the Species at Risk in Ontario list. It is imperative that proposals directly reference these documents.
Your application must address one of the 2020-2021 priorities (as listed at the link below) to be considered for funding. Multi-partner projects will be strongly considered, as will projects with matching funds from a variety of sources.
If you believe you have a project that qualifies for funding, please contact Max Smith (max.smith@trca.ca) at your earliest convenience. The deadline for Statements of Interest is Thursday, March 12th. Due to the quick turnaround for this funding opportunity, late submissions will not be considered for funding.
For additional information regarding project eligibility, please reference the Priority Areas below, as well as the program website.
