Funding Opportunity – Environmental Damages Fund

July 8, 2020

Maximum Funding Amount: $6,000,000

Statement of Interest due: July 22

The Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) has now opened its RFP for projects that will improve understanding of climate change for Kindergarten to Grade 12 youth across Canada. These projects will work with youth to teach them how their daily actions collectively make a meaningful contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and help address climate change. The EDF program is seeking project proposals that are scientifically, demographically and culturally appropriate and can inform and engage youth to help them take daily responsible actions and make a difference. We all need to do our part and our youth are best placed to be global leaders in the fight against climate change.

Please note the following eligibility requirement: Applicants must partner with another eligible organization – only partnership applications will be accepted.

The Applicant Guide provides very specific details regarding project eligibility. Please see attachment for further details.

EDF will fund 100% of project costs, but evidence of matching non-federal funding (especially 1:1 funding) will result in a higher score. All project materials must be presented in both French and English.

If you are interested in applying for this grant, please submit an SOI no later than July 22. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your project’s eligibility prior to submitting an SOI, please contact Max Smith (max.smith@trca.ca) at your earliest convenience.
