Funding Opportunity – Energy Efficient Buildings Program

Natural Resource Canada’s Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) Program supports research, development and demonstration projects that can:
- accelerate the development and adoption of “net-zero energy ready” building codes and necessary technologies;
- promote highly energy efficient building design and construction practices;
- provide more cost effective building solutions, and validate their applications locally with real-world demonstrations;
- build confidence with industry and PTs to accelerate their adoption of revised building codes.
Program funding is available from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2026 for projects under the two following priority areas:
(1) Highly energy efficient commercial/institutional buildings – deep energy retrofits, and;
(2) Provincial, territorial, or municipal-led initiatives.
NRCan will provide financial assistance up to 50% of eligible costs, to a maximum of $5,000,000 per project. Eligible project types include Demonstration, Demonstration in combination with a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study, stand-alone FEED studies, or other studies (e.g. Impact assessment studies).
