June 11, 2020

Maximum Funding Amount: $40,000 – $70,000 (depending on location)

Statement of Interest due: June 29 deadline (please submit ASAP)

The Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) is a government aid program disbursed through local community foundations, the Canadian Red Cross, and United Way to support projects assisting vulnerable populations, in particular those that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ECSF will support projects that:

  • clearly address a pressing social inclusion or well-being need caused by COVID-19;
  • serve one or more vulnerable groups;
  • can be carried out in a short timeframe with a reasonable budget before March 31, 2021.

A full list of eligible projects, as well as a list of qualifying vulnerable populations, can be consulted here.

Please note that this fund specifically requires that the population served by proposed projects must be affected by COVID-19, and the proposed project must help alleviate stresses caused by COVID-19. Capital projects are not eligible.

If you would like to discuss your project’s eligibility, please contact Max Smith (max.smith@trca.ca) no later than June 22, 2020.

Statements of Interest must be submitted through the Grant Centre no later than June 29. Earlier applicants will have a higher likelihood of funding.
