Funding Opportunity – Celebrate Canada

Funding Amount: up to $50,000
Statement of Interest (SOI) due: October 27, 2022

Celebrate Canada provides funding to community-based events in 2023 celebrating and promoting National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21), Saint-Jean Baptiste Day (June 24), Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27) and Canada Day (July 1).

To qualify for funding, events must be free to the public.

Examples of project-related expenses the fund will cover include:

  • promotional expenses, communications, entertainment, supplies, and equipment rental;
  • cake for Canada Day celebrations;
  • ceremonial and traditional food for Indigenous People Day or Canada Multiculturalism Day celebrations only;
  • fireworks;
  • administrative costs (up to 15% of the total contribution) such as salaries and benefits;
  • reasonable travel/hospitality expenses.

Note ineligible expenses include facility rental costs for TRCA-owned property or buildings.

Funding may be able to cover expenses incurred as of April 1st, 2023. Virtual events are not being considered this year.

Please submit your Statement of Interest (SOI) through the Grant Centre no later than Thursday, October 27.

In your SOI, please include the accounts the matching funds are coming from and a breakdown of any salary costs (rate and number of hours).
