Introducing TRCA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Workshop
September 6, 2022
We are pleased to announce the launch of TRCA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Workshop.
As a critical part of our People First Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy, this training supports building DEI organizational competency, knowledge, and understanding. It is intended to help achieve this both within TRCA and externally with partners, including for work associated with the programs and services we deliver to diverse communities across our jurisdiction.
The DEI Workshop training will be available through TRCA’s Learning Management System (LMS) within the Ceridian Dayforce platform on September 8, 2022. All employees will receive an email notification indicating the launch of the training from notify@dayforce.com. Please note that this course is mandatory and must be completed by November 30, 2022.
The workshop builds off the previous DEI training and provides foundational information on DEI that highlights the benefits, importance, and best practices to foster an equitable and inclusive culture within a diverse workplace and with diverse external stakeholders.
The workshop also provides information on different types of biases, racism, and discrimination and how they can proactively be eliminated or guarded against. Finally, the training introduces TRCA’s newly developed DEI Purpose Statement.
This workshop was developed by Renee Daudlin-Iacobelli, VP Operations at Insight Advantage, who has more than 30 years of experience in employment supports, disability management, and corporate training. Previously a Human Rights Coordinator for CUPE 1715, and a Certified Instructor for both the Cultural Competence and Unconscious Bias programs of the Cultural Competence Center, she has delivered sensitivity training to more than 600 education administrators.
We look forward to collaborating with staff to further advance our focus on diversity, equity and inclusion across TRCA and in our work with our partners.
