As we commence this new month, we wanted to first extend our gratitude to all employees that continue to deliver the exceptional work and services that are essential to our municipal partners, communities and Province.
We also wanted to share applicable highlights of recent announcements from the Ontario Government and City of Toronto, which include:
- An extension to the previously announced Declaration of Emergency and associated emergency measures, including the closure of non-essential workplaces to April 13, 2020.
- Closure of public schools to students until Monday, May 4, 2020.
- A new emergency order to close all outdoor recreational amenities until further notice.
- The prohibition of organized public events and social gatherings of more than five people until further notice.
- Cancellation of mass events and meetings in the City of Toronto up to June 30, 2020.
What Do These Announcements Mean to TRCA?
All TRCA facilities and offices will remain closed to the public; we will continue our services in alignment with the extended Declaration of Emergency.
TRCA will continue to promote and support flexible work arrangements where operationally feasible. For our construction sites and field operations, TRCA continues to ensure procedures and processes are in place to adhere to public health recommendations, provincial requirements and physical distancing.
Lastly, all in-person TRCA programming and events remain cancelled until further notice and our website has been updated accordingly.
TRCA’s SLT will continue to keep you informed of our efforts to ensure the health and safety of our TRCA team.
