2022 People Power Challenge

August 9, 2022

Good afternoon TRCA Staff,

The People Power Challenge is a sustainability engagement program run by our own Partners in Project Green team. As an organization whose purpose is to protect and restore the natural environment, we often focus on the important needs of our local watersheds, and it’s equally important to ensure that we take steps to align our internal operations with TRCA’s community-based sustainability goals. To this end, we are fortunate to be able to take advantage of and participate in the 2022 People Power Challenge to drive sustainability deeper into our own operations, and to support staff in taking steps to further their own sustainability journeys. Our municipal partners at City of Vaughan and City of Mississauga are also participating in this program, along with Seneca College, Sheridan College and University of Toronto -Mississauga.

The People Power Challenge (PPC) is a fun and easy way for organizations of all types and sizes to drive sustainability action and engage employees. This year’s challenge runs from August 8 until October 28 and will focus on two main themes: Social Impact and Climate Action to help individuals and teams work towards all 17 UN Sustainability Development Goals.

I, and the whole TRCA Senior Leadership Team, encourage you to get involved by joining the events and webinars, and completing some of the at home and at work sustainability challenges.

You can earn prizes for participation! Here are the three things you can do to earn points:
