Our organization once again is taking part in the 2021 People Power Challenge!
The People Power Challenge (PPC) is a sustainability engagement program run by our own Partners in Project Green team.
As an organization whose purpose is to protect and restore the natural environment, we often focus on the important needs of our local watersheds. It’s equally important to ensure that we take steps to align our internal operations with TRCA’s community-based sustainability goals.
To this end, we are fortunate to be able to take advantage of and participate in the People Power Challenge to drive sustainability deeper into our own operations, and to support staff in taking steps to further their own sustainability journeys.
Our municipal partners at City of Vaughan and City of Mississauga are also participating in this program, along with University of Toronto – Mississauga.

The same as last year, we are notably linking the actions and activities of the program to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The program will continue to include at-home sustainability activities and host events in virtual settings.
We are participating with neighbouring companies around the GTA to show that we are a true leader in environmental sustainability. This year’s Challenge runs from August 2 until October 29, and will focus on two main themes: Health & Well Being and Plastic Waste Reduction.
We encourage you to get involved by joining the events and webinars, and completing some of the at-home sustainability challenges.
