The Provincial Flood Forecasting and Warning Committee (PFFWC) hosted the 2019 Flood Forecasting and Warning Workshop on Wednesday September 18.

TRCA has been the organizer of this event for nearly seven years.

The PFFWC combines the efforts of many contributors to create an informative workshop experience. The goals:

  • To provide links between agencies responsible for flood forecasting and warning, emergency management, flow measurement and data collection, as well as other partners
  • To address policy and implementation needs and issues
  • To facilitate training

More than 120 professionals from 30 Conservation Authorities attended the 2019 workshop, as well as representatives from Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and Ontario Power Generation.
