Progress Made to Date |
NOVEMBER 2020:
- TRCA’s new Learning and Development Policy is currently in development
- Development Plans have been implemented as part of the Performance Development Program. Development Plans are required for all employees who participate in the Performance Development Plan program
DECEMBER 2020:
- TRCA’s new Learning and Development Policy is complete and will be reviewed by SLT in January 2021.
- Development Plans were implemented as part of the Performance Development Program and completed as part of the 2021 PDP year-end review process for required employees.
JANUARY 2021:
- TRCA’s new Learning and Development Policy approved at SLT.
- Development Plans established for required employees for 2021 performance year.
- Learning Management System (LMS) to launch February 1, 2021 providing employees with:
- Centralized robust course catalogue for equitable learning opportunities for employees
- Mechanism to track training, certifications, progress and performance
- Clear mechanism for training eligibility and approval tied to the L&D policy for course requests
FEBRUARY 2021:
- Release of communications to both employees and supervisors leading up to and at the time of launch of the new LMS and L&D Policy to support the change management of the new policy and program.
- TRCA’s new Learning and Development Policy launched. Manager tactical calls held to review and answer questions on the new L&D Policy.
- Learning Management System (LMS) launched in Ceridian Dayforce on February 1, 2021. Several tools released on the Staff Hub – HR page in conjunction with the launch to support employees and supervisors in navigating and using the LMS including:

- LMS Supervisor Guide
- Quick Tips – How to enroll in a Webinar Course
- Quick Tips – How to enroll in a Classroom Course
- Live QA Sessions made accessible to staff to support LMS or L&D Policy questions
- 2021 Learning and Development Calendar posted on the Staff Hub to support the transition to the LMS Learning Catalogue.
- Processes established for upload active position required and legislatively required certifications to the LMS.
- Power user training delivered to the administration teams across TRCA divisions to support the new L&D Policy application, LMS usage and certification conversion process.
- LMS Catalogue populated with current training and COR training rolled out using the new LMS.
- Plan to continue to grow the LMS Catalogue and L&D 2021 Training Calendar.
