Eastern Beaches Natural Dune Beach Curb Shoreline Protection

As lake levels rise and undesired winds impact Toronto shorelines, TRCA in partnership with the City of Toronto have designed and are constructing protective measures to ensure safety of public and surrounding infrastructure. These works are a continuation of the 2017 emergency works completed in partnership with the City of Toronto. The completion of beach curbs, dune naturalization to ensure beach replenishment, and the installation of a sump pit, will mitigate against further damages to infrastructure, maintain public safety as well as increase resilience for future high-water events. Ross Davidson and crew members, Hillary Morris and Joe DiRocco, are passionate and dedicated about their work that includes installing these protective measures.
