Get ready for Microsoft Outlook !

April 1, 2019

I am pleased to announce that our move from Lotus Notes for email and calendar is finally here.  The team has been busy planning for the migration of email and calendar to Microsoft Outlook.  We are working with our external consultants to plan and execute a smooth transition.

Our move to Outlook will happen in two phases, our first phase is a group of users we are calling “Champions“.  Today we held a kickoff meeting with all 70 champions to introduce them to the plan and to get them prepared to migrate their own email on April 22nd, 2019.

Our Champions will give us all early insights that will help us bring Microsoft Outlook and Office 365 to life for all users. Think of it as a dry run, among a representative group, that will help us prepare for our second phase full-scale migration planned for May 13, 2019.

Check here for a detailed timeline of all activities.

To ensure we move all of our corporate email records to the new Outlook email system we will be asking everyone to copy any Lotus Notes email archives back into their Lotus Notes email account.  We have removed all space restrictions from all Notes email accounts to allow the repatriation of the email archives.  If you need help with this please contact the ITM Service Desk.

As we move to Outlook as our new email system we will also be making Office 365 Teams chat our corporate standard for Instant Messaging.  The ITM team will be upgrading all users to the current version of Microsoft Office to allow everyone access to the current software.
