Black Creek Community Farm’s 2019 Harvest Share

April 15, 2019

It’s time to start thinking about fresh, seasonal veggies!

Black Creek Community Farm is once again offering its Harvest Share Program to TRCA staff. Participating in the Harvest Share program is a great way to buy local, organic vegetables and support a great community organization at the same time.

MEET THE FARMERS!

Black Creek Community Farm will visit TRCA head office at 101 Exchange Avenue from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 17, 2019. Come meet the farm staff near the cafeteria and learn more about the Harvest Share program!

What is a Harvest Share?

It’s a subscription service for organic vegetables!

For about $28 per week, you will receive a freshly-picked basket of vegetables (8-10 types) delivered weekly to TRCA headquarters. A full share is a good size for a family of two to four, depending on the appetites in your household.

Participants pre-pay at the beginning of the season and then receive a basket each week for 24 weeks (full share) or 12 weeks (half share). Baskets are delivered to head office on Thursdays from approximately June to November.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost for regular subscriptions this year is $672 for a full share and $336 for a half share. The cost includes delivery to head office.

You also have the opportunity to give back to a family in need. If you would like to subsidize an accessible price share for a low-income family (household income less than $30,000) in the Black Creek community, you can choose the supporter price from the drop-down menu on the order form. This will allow low-income families to purchase affordable, healthy food while ensuring sufficient revenue for the farm.
