A new Chapter in our Customer Service Journey

January 30, 2019

Welcome to 2019 and to all the great things ahead in this new year. Your Information Technology Management (ITM) business unit has been rapidly evolving to become your trusted partner in providing Information and Technology solutions for you, your group, your division and the organization. Our desire as we start 2019 is to continue to enhance the services that we provide to you and your day to day needs in respect to IT.

Information and Technology is part of everything we do as an organization. IT is integrated into every business process and every interaction with our partners, customers and the broader community. We are totally dependent on information and technology to deliver on day to day services as well as the Building the Living City strategic plan.

In early 2018, in order to provide centralized, unified support for fundamental business operations and to provide better service to our partners, the ITM group along with six other corporate functions were realigned into the Corporate Services division. As part of this realignment the organization also created the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO is responsible for enabling TRCA to deliver on its mandate with robust and innovative technology. The CIO is the strategic leader who oversees and promotes continuous improvement of Information Technology Management governance and policy processes in order to align Information Technology with the organization’s business needs and priorities.

As the CIO for TRCA since October 29, 2018 it has been an exhilarating journey as I join the ITM team and you all in moving us towards modernizing our IT systems and services to help us all reach our business goals and objectives. Service is key to our success as it is part of your success. As we find new ways to serve you better, you are able to serve your clients and customers in a more efficient and effective way. We made January customer service month because it is foundational. As we move forward into 2019, we will not stop enhancing the what and how of our service to you.

Thanks for being part of this journey with us.
