International GIS Day

Happy GIS Day!!

Today is the international celebration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). GIS is a scientific framework for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data to help us make better decisions (ESRI, 2020).  GIS has long been used at TRCA and it is one of our enterprise applications. GIS Day is a chance to share our accomplishments and inspire TRCA staff to discover and use GIS.

With that in mind, TRCA’s Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) team has created a Story Map ‘TRCA GIS Day – Stitching It All Together’ highlighting our 2020 accomplishments. The work that we do, in collaboration with many TRCA staff is truly inspiring and worthy of celebration today.
