People Power Challenge Launch
October 19, 2020
Welcome to the 2020 Challenge!
Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is taking part in the 2020 People Power Challenge (PPC)! Similar to previous years, we are joining neighboring organizations around the GTA to show that TRCA is a true leader in environmental sustainability.
With everyone’s help, we know we can make a meaningful difference in our operations at TRCA and in our personal lives at home.

Here’s What You Can Do to Prepare for the Challenge:
1. Sign up for the weekly People Power Challenge Newsletter!
This newsletter will be the main source of information for all things related to the Challenge. It will arrive in your inbox every week containing pictures from participants, news stories, information about upcoming events and webinars, and some fun resources to help us stay on track! SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER.
2. Tune into our virtual kick-off event!
On Wednesday September 16 at 1:00 p.m., the Partners in Project Green team will host a live session to introduce TRCA staff to the program and answer any questions you may have.
REGISTRATION CLOSED
3. Attend events!
Autumn is here! In October, People Power Challenge will be focusing on waste management and how our actions and behaviours affect the environment. This is the final month of the People Power Challenge, so be sure to get involved by completing different activities related to the program, and attend the next monthly event:
How to Conduct a Home Waste Audit: Thursday October 22 (1:00 to 2:00 p.m.)
You may have heard about waste audits for the office, but what about the home? Join this interactive and action oriented virtual event with the UofT Trash Team to learn how to do a waste audit at home and reduce your impact.
4. Complete sustainable actions and receive points!
Throughout the Challenge you can commit to taking action to support sustainability at home and within TRCA. Learn more about the actions you can complete to receive points for our team. Don’t forget to snap a photo and share it via email to PPC@trca.ca.
