- Involving Communications, Marketing and Events early in the project helps identify all options and potential issues and allows sufficient time to help you decide on the right tactics to achieve your goals.
- Submitting a completed Print and Design Request Form in the Corporate Communications Hub Space on the Staff Hub with as much of the available detail as possible can reduce time-consuming revisions later in the project.
- Providing content that is as close to final as possible saves time.
- Obtain required approvals for the project and all content before it is submitted through a Print and Design Request Form. Minor edits can still be made later. However, significant text revisions provided after the design phase has been completed may require a time-consuming redesign.
- Planning to allow for the estimated lead times (see table under Services Offered and Required Lead Time) avoids the need for some jobs to jump the queue and delay other projects. Consider your TRCA colleagues!
- Do not invest your valuable time creating design mock-ups or preparing detailed design instructions. TRCA’s professional designers are trained to take content and objectives and bring them to life, using the best possible design solutions that support TRCA’s brand.
- Obtain budget approval before initiating the project. The Communications, Marketing and Events business unit can help you plan and determine pricing before work begins.
- When sending revisions, please assign a single point of contact within your unit who will be responsible for compiling all edits and detailing them as comments on the PDF proof. This will prevent unnecessary duplication of effort and will reduce the likelihood of mistakes.
- Proofread carefully. Once all content revisions have been made, Communications, Marketing and Events will provide you with a final proof to review thoroughly before sending it for printing. Any mistakes found after printing will result in additional charges to your account if a reprint is necessary.
