New LMS Course Offerings

Good afternoon TRCA Staff,

We are pleased to announce the release of a new course offerings in TRCA’s Learning Management System. Courses can be found under Learning Management System (LMS) > Course Catalog:

  • Lunch and Learn: Natural Asset Carbon Assessment Guide and Toolbox (Aug 24, 2022: 11:00a.m – 12:00p.m.)
  • Guest speakers include:

-Lauren Moretto, Technician 2, Ecosystem Goods and Services, CVC

-Tracy Timmins, Research Analysts, Ecosystem and Climate Science, TRCA

-Fabio Tonto, Climate Change Specialist, LSRCA

  • Building Business Case for Natural Assets: Example and Tools from Municipalities in The Credit River Watersheds (Sept 08, 2022: 12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m.)
  • Presented in collaboration with STEP, and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC)
    • CVC will present a suite of financial and asset management planning tools to support municipalities and conservation authorities in addressing these technical gaps.
  • Reducing Winter Salt Application on Commercial Parking Lots: Case Study and Design Guidelines (Sept 15, 2022: 12:00p.m – 1:00p.m.)
  • Presented in collaboration with STEP, Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), and Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA)
  • This webinar will include presentations on LSCRA’s Parking Lot Design Guidelines to Promote Salt Reduction and with a case study of salt management and monitoring at Credit Valley Conservation’s head office.
  • Lunch and Learn: TRCA Trail Strategy Implementation (Sept 27, 2022: 11:00a.m – 12:00p.m.)
  • Guest speakers include:

-Corey Wells, Senior Project Manager, Project Management Office

-Caitlin Harrigan, Senior Manager, Project Management Office

  • 2021 Ontario Flood Forecasting and Warning Series Stream #1: Keynote Kickoff (Sept 28, 2022: 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.)
  • Presented by Conservation Ontario
  • This is one of five topics. The goal of the workshop is to provide links between agencies responsible for flood forecasting and warning, emergency management, flow measurement and data collection.
  • Biodiversity Matters in Managing Natural Assets: Working Together to Protect and Manager the Species that Make Up Our natural heritage for watershed health and resilience (Sept 29, 2022: 11:00a.m – 12:00p.m.)
  • Presented in collaboration with STEP and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC)
  • This webinar will provide and overview of the ongoing global crisis of biodiversity declines and will discuss what is known about the status of local biodiversity.

Please note that as per the Learning and Development Policy , supervisor approval is required prior to registering for courses in TRCA’s Course Catalog.
