Since its launch in June 2021, the Scientific Knowledge Sharing platform has become one of the most visited pages on the Staff Hub. It continues to be a place where staff can learn about and engage with the scientific work being done by TRCA and partners.

More than 80 participants attended this session led by Al Pietroniro and Hayley Carlson, the Coordinating Lead Authors of the Water Resources chapter of the Canada in a Changing Climate: National Issues Report (2021).
Carruthers Creek Watershed Plan Lunch & Learn – October 26, 2021
Tony Morris and Liz Speller, Project Managers for Watershed Planning and Reporting, informed more than 90 staff about the updated Carruthers Creek Watershed Plan. Now that both TRCA’s Board of Directors and Durham Region Council have approved the watershed plan, the next step is to advance implementation of the recommended actions in 2022.

Spatial Patterns (2016-2020) and Temporal Trends (1966-2020) in Stream Water Quality across TRCA’s Jurisdiction – October 2021
This report discusses regional surface water quality spatial patterns and temporal trends in regional rivers and streams. The data from TRCA’s Regional Watershed Monitoring Program shows that water quality is generally poor in urban areas closest to the lake. Chlorides also appear to be the biggest threat to water quality by accumulating in soils, groundwater and stormwater ponds.
Toronto and Region Area of Concern: Work Plan 2020-2025 – June 2021
This document highlights some of the key activities required by TRCA and partners to update the Beneficial Use Impairments for the Toronto and Region area of Concern from 2020 to 2025.
