Funding Opportunity – Active Transportation Fund

Maximum Funding Amount: $50,000 (Planning Stream); 60% of eligible project costs (Capital Stream)

The Active Transportation Fund (ATF) aims to increase the total amount, usage and quality of active transportation infrastructure throughout Canada. The ATF will support capital and planning projects that encourage a modal shift away from cars and improve the safety and security of Canadians.

The ATF has two streams.

Planning Stream: Supports 100% of eligible planning costs up to $50,000.

Capital Stream: Supports up to 60% of eligible expenditures for capital projects. There is a 60% federal stacking limit for the fund, but provincial and municipal dollars are eligible for the 40% matching requirement. Ongoing maintenance expenses are not eligible for funding.
