February 21, 2020

John MacKenzieI am pleased to share with you the online version of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s 2019 Annual Report, which outlines TRCA’s progress to date on achieving strategic plan objectives.

cover page of TRCA 2019 annual reportBuilding Momentum, the title and theme of this year’s report, highlights our effort to transform into a more modern, sophisticated organization fully equipped for delivery of service excellence for our stakeholders and the public.

The 2019 Annual Report is organized according to each strategic priority within the Strategic Plan to improve the evaluation and reporting process towards achieving these desired outcomes. Connecting the accomplishments directly to the Strategic Plan allows for a clearer understanding of how TRCA is contributing, on an annual basis, towards the 10-year desired outcomes and projected accomplishments.

The 2019 Annual Report also includes an outline of the major challenges that TRCA will need to overcome in order to continue making progress. Some of these challenges include ensuring sustainable funding for programs and initiatives, and responding to and adjusting our programs recognizing Ontario’s dynamic policy environment.

Please take a few minutes to explore TRCA’s 2019 Annual Report. I also encourage you to view our 2019 Year in Review video (below), which illustrates the important role of conservation authorities and key accomplishments from last year, and also highlights how members of our Senior Leadership Team are leading modernization initiatives across the organization.

Sincerely,
